Microsoft is relatively making a minor update to Windows 8.1 that expected to showcased as early as March this year. And currently the said update has leaked online and available to download from file sharing services. But, It's probably better to wait for the real thing, which is expected to be available from 11 March.
Brings a number of key improvements such as a new tile bar appear on apps, which is more mouse friendly, allowing you to close, minimize and snap more easily on a desktop without a touchscreen. Search shutdown icon now appear in the top right of the Start Screen and Windows Stores apps can pinnes to the desktop taskbar.
According to the source – Verge, that clicking on Live Tiles on the Start Screen now brings up a context menu with options to resize, unpin and more. And search and shutdown icons now appear in the top right of the Start Screen, so you don't have to fiddle about to bring them up.
This year’s "Update 1" will likely include minor changes to Windows 8.1 ahead of much larger improvements in Windows "Threshold" for early 2015. Microsoft may take the opportunity at Build to discuss some of its future plans with Threshold, but we've learned the company is still planning much of that work at the moment.
Rumors have indicated that Windows Phone 8.1 (a k a "Blue") will RTM just prior to the kick off of Microsoft's Build 2014 conference, which starts April 2. From what I've heard, Windows Phone 8.1 won't be available to consumers until later this April, at the earliest, though developers will likely have access to the bits sooner than that.
