Apple has just announced that they receive the recognition of patent for cutting and processing of the second hardest element on earth, the sapphires. The patent that Apple has been awarded related to the processing and cutting of sapphire wafers for use in consumer electronics.
The company said to giving serious production and replacing the current Gorilla Glass into the Sapphire made glass display panel. It the presence of sapphires smartphones makes it a great screen that makes it hard to break or even to cut. Although using the tougher sapphire glass could make their devices less prone to scratches and also damaged displays.
The last thing we heard was that the iPhone 6 could come with a sapphire glass display that will also feature solar charging, and now Apple has been awarded a new patent for sapphire glass production.
Apple's sapphire window patent application was first filed for in 2012 and credits Christopher D. Prest, Ashutosh Y. Shukla, Dale N. Memering, Vashist Vasanthakumar, Vincent Yan and Thomas Johannessen as its inventors.
Earlier on thursday, documents surfaced relating to Apple's partnership with sapphire manufacturer GT Advanced Technologies. The packet outlined "Project Cascade," an advanced sapphire manufacturing facility in Mesa, Ariz., that Apple is pushing to get online as soon as February.
