Speculations, rumors surface over the web that Samsung are expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy S5 at the Samsung Unpacked 5 event at mobile world congress later this month, and now it would appear that the company will also release the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. Similar with the Galaxy S4 Active a water proof model of the said smartphone which can sustain at a messy environment.
Samsung are expected to do the same with the Galaxy S5, and the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active will apparently be one of many different Galaxy S5 versions.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 active apparently made up around three to four percent of Galaxy S4 sales, and Samsung are looking to sell a lot more of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, with possibly between twenty to thirty percent of total Galaxy S5 sales.
According to the report Samsung intends on producing roughly 5 million dust/waterproof S5 models, and that figure would definitely make the smartphone more mainstream.
If these reports are spot-on, then there’s still the question of whether or not this waterproof variant will go on sale at the same time as the regular S5, but I suppose time will shed more light on this.
As yet we do not have any specifications on the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, we can expect the device to be dust and waterproof and it may come with similar specifications to the Galaxy S5.
